Our goal is to decrease the overwhelming feelings associated with the possibility of a breast cancer diagnosis and to help alleviate fears through compassion and understanding in addition to providing the absolute highest quality of care.
Wilson Regional Breast Clinic offers patients an option of a private, individual consultation with a team of specialists in one single office visit once the patient has had an abnormal imaging study (mammogram, ultrasound, breast MRI) or an abnormal biopsy. The clinic enables specialty physicians trained in breast disease to team up and map out a treatment plan that is individualized. Patients with breast cancer ideally necessitate a team approach to their healthcare, sometimes spending time waiting between physician appointments…time that could be spent in treatment. Breast cancer patients also require synchronized coordination by their healthcare team to provide recommendations for the appropriate individualized treatment plan. We recognize a patient benefits from timely decision making and continuity of care.
The specialty team at Wilson Regional Breast Clinic consists of:
- Medical Oncology
- Radiation Oncology
- Surgeon
- Nursing

The clinic will be held every Wednesday afternoon, beginning
February 20, 2008, at Wilson Regional Cancer Center located at
1703 Medical Park Drive, Wilson. The clinic offers the unique
opportunity for each patient to consult privately and
individually with a surgeon, a medical oncologist, and a
radiation oncologist. The specialists rotate to each
patient’s room, so that the patient never has to leave
their room. Throughout the clinic, the patient is encouraged to
ask questions and be actively involved in their assessment. At
the conclusion of the visit, the nurse acts as a patient
advocate to ensure the patient understands the plan of care.
