 Wilson Regional Cancer is a consortium of physicians and other cancer specialists at Wilson Medical Center that offers a wide range of diagnostic, treatment and prevention options. Through Wilson Regional Cancer Center, you will receive treatment from a number of specialists, from pathologists to oncologists. They will use the most up-to-date technology, available at WilMed Healthcare, to give you the best possible outcome from your cancer care treatment. Here are some of the treatments offered in Wilson.
 The Center received a three-year approval with commendation from the Commission on Cancer's American College of Surgeons. A facility receives a three-year approval with commendation following an on-site evaluation by a physician surveyor during which the facility demonstrates a ommendation level of compliance with one or more standards that represent the full scope of the cancer program. That includes cancer committee leadership, cancer data management, clinical services, research, community outreach and quality improvement. In addition, a facility receives a compliance rating for all other standards.
The Wilson Regional Cancer Center is formally affiliated with the UNC Lineberger Cancer Center to offer the Wilson community the best in cancer care. This affiliation offers patients access to the latest clinical trials in cancer treatment. Our specialists and UNC cancer physicians will work together to engage in individual reviews on a case by case basis and educational activities to the benefit of our patients.

 Our cancer care starts with state-of-the-art diagnostic services. Medical imaging technology has advanced to new levels, and Wilson Medical Center has invested heavily in the technology to ensure our patients and physicians receive fast, accurate test results. We  provide Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), PET and nuclear medicine scans, mammography (digital and breast MRI), radiography (X-Ray), stereotactic core biopsy and ultrasound procedures, all of which incorporate the latest technology to detect, diagnose and evaluate the many forms of cancer. The Radiology Department is staffed 24/7 with radiologists and technicians to provide both inpatient and outpatient services. Wilson Medical Center also offers a number of other on-site services, including Gastroenterology and Endoscopy unit, a laboratory services department and pathology services, all of which are also staffed 24/7.
